Digestive Health & Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, strong Agni (digestive fire) is the foundation of health. All imbalances begin with poor digestion (Mandāgni, Vishamāgni or Tikshnāgni) leading to the buildup of Āma (toxins). The root of disease and malaise in Ayurveda is Āma.
Types of Agni:
| Agni Type | Dosha Dominance | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Vishama Agni | Vata | Irregular appetite, bloating, gas |
| Tikshna Agni | Pitta | Strong hunger, acidity, loose motions |
| Mandāgni | Kapha | Slow digestion, heaviness, dull appetite |
| Samāgni | Balanced | Optimal digestion, balanced metabolism |
